Morning Sicknesses At Night

Pregnant women may at times experience morning sickness at night.

Although lacking in some women, morning sickness is very common among majority of the pregnant women during the first months of pregnancy. There is a general misconception that morning sickness only occurs in the morning owing to its commonness during morning hours and its subsequent name. However, nausea bouts can attack pregnant women any time including during nighttime leading to the concept of morning sickness at night.

It is important to realize that different women have different experiences and as such what triggers their morning sickness bouts differs. Majority of pregnant women are highly sensitive to different smells and this is what tends to trigger their nausea. While some women are allergic to the smell of smoke, others find some foods and spices quite offensive. Hence, morning sickness varies with each woman in terms of causes and times.

Morning sickness can be caused by many things ranging from food intake, dehydration to rest and the wellbeing of the pregnant woman in general. When a woman indulges in greasy and fatty foods, she is likely to suffer from nausea. Dehydration also triggers the nauseous feeling and women are advised to take as much fluid as possible to counter morning sickness. Rest is also important for the pregnant woman as it helps in alleviating the nauseous bouts.

Morning Sicknesses At Night

Morning sickness at night is often speculated to be caused by the kind and amount of food a pregnant woman has taken during the day. Any overfeeding during the day can lead to morning sickness at night and as much as they have cravings, pregnant women are cautioned against over indulging. On the other hand, skipping meals and an empty stomach are also catalysts of morning sickness at night. This is why pregnant women are advised to ensure that they eat light meals on a frequent basis. The meals should be balanced with all the necessary nutrients.

Too much exhaustion during the day can also cause morning sickness at night and pregnant women are supposed to avoid this by ensuring they rest well and avoid heavy duty chores. The women should also ensure that they sleep for the recommended 8 hours to minimize cases of fatigue that may cause nausea.

The aspect of stress has also been related to morning sickness and pregnant women have been advised to always avoid stressful conditions to avoid morning sickness and other pregnancy complications. Morning sickness can be alleviated through maintaining a healthy routine as well as diet.
